CIFIS — the Capital Intelligence and Funding Information System — is a national intelligence platform for capital access. We help nonprofits, hospitals, banks, CDFIs, foundations, consultants, and government coordinate capital with verified data and explainable workflows.

The Story Behind CIFIS

CIFIS was built around a simple belief: organizations doing important work should not have to operate funding-blind. Hear from founder Travis Toussaint about the problem CIFIS was created to address.

Mission

Make the flow of community capital legible. Give every mission-driven organization the same intelligence surface that well-resourced institutions build in-house.

What we do

  • Unify verified funder, opportunity, CRA, CDFI, hospital, and community-capital data in one platform.
  • Score readiness and fit with an explainable methodology (CAPS Lite).
  • Provide source-cited answers via Ask CIFIS — never black-box AI.
  • Publish intelligence briefings that stand up to executive and audit review.

Operating principles

  • Source-attributed by default. Every non-trivial claim links to a verifiable source.
  • Show freshness. Every record carries a verification status and freshness band.
  • No fabrication. If we don't have data, we say so — we don't invent it.
  • Locked releases. Reference implementations (Florida v1.0) freeze the contract before expansion.

History

  • 2025 — Platform foundation built (CRA Intelligence, CAPS Lite, Opportunity Radar).
  • Early 2026 — Florida Intelligence Platform v1.0 locked as reference implementation.
  • Mid 2026 — National Hospital Community Benefit Intelligence deployed across CMS-registered facilities.
  • 2026+ — Multi-state expansion on the shared Organization Intelligence backbone.

CIFIS is operated by a mission-driven team of capital access, community development and platform engineering practitioners. Leadership bios and named references are shared under NDA with enterprise buyers on request — email info@cifis.org.
